KUCHING: Over 180 passengers were on AirAsia’s inaugural flight from Kuching to Macau yesterday. The flight took off from Kuching International Airport at 3.40 pm and was expected to arrive at Macau by 7.25pm. For the whole of 2006, Macau received 202, 821 Malaysia tourists.MGTO is a government body which plays the vital role to promote tourism in Macau and co-ordinates related activities and services with the local tourism industry players. Its functions include assisting in the formulation and implementation of local tourism policies and issuing tourism related licences in keeping with Macau development strategy. MGTO will continue to devote itself to promote Macau as a tourism, gaming, entertainment, meeting, exhibitions and event destination through its network of 17 representatives around the world. In conjunction with AirAsia’s inaugural international flight to Macau from Kuching, MGTO has lined up a series of promotional activities to attract more Malaysians to visit Macau.
